Preparing for Winter

Ah yes, winter season! That time when people like me set up a winter camp with the guys for our weekend getaway-from-it-all. It's also a time when women dress up in their winter clothes and men put on their best undershirts!

Although the past few years we havent' seen much cold weather, it's still a cold desert during this time, and we do have the occasional rain showers and frost during the wee hours of the morning. I still enjoy the winter season most of all.

Here's a checklist of things to do to prepare for winter:
-Update your closet with new, warm clothes
-Get out your favorite leather jacket & polish it up
-Get some electrical oil heaters (The good Japanese stuff, not the cheap Korean ones!)
-Check your car's heater & battery, this is the only time you'll be using the heater, so make it count!
-Check your tires. Wet surfaces will appear frequently during the Kuwaiti winter, and you don't want to skid into the cars or traffic lights on your way to work.
-Campers: Get a good quality 'bisht' for camp. Coupled with thermal underwear and a good pair of jeans & a sweat shirt, there's nothing better to protect you from the flu!
-Get a skullcap, a la Craig David!
-Stack up on juice and cold medicines. That old bottle of cough syrup in the medicine cabinet may already be expired!
-Update your iPod music to set the mood (I'll leave that to your personal preference)
-Most important; CHILL!!
