It takes a real man to apologize

Australian's new Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd has apologized to the Aboriginal people of Australia for all the inhumane treatment that was inflicted upon them by the white population throught their history. This is some of what he said;
"For the indignity and degradation thus inflicted on a proud people and a proud culture, we say sorry."
It takes a real man to admit his mistakes, and if speaking on behalf of an entire nation, it takes a real man with real guts to apologize to the admittedly downtrodden, in front of the world. And this is only after Mr. Rudd spent a few weeks in office-and the apology was the very first act of his government since taking the office!
The Aboriginal nation, happy with the statement that the Prime Minister "is expected" to issue a formal apology in the Australian parliament in Canberra-historically a home of the Aboriginal people-welcomed Mr. Rudd with their traditional celebrations and dancing rituals.
The Message: If you apologize for your errors, the people will respect you for it, and it makes you a better human being.
