The new Islam

The man in this picture is called Yousif Al Ahmed, he is a lecturer in the College of Jurisprudence, or religious law at the Saudi "Imam" University.

He called in to a tv talk show and made the most ridiculous recommendation ever; Demolish the Sacred Mosque in Mecca and rebuild it in a way that would prevent the mixing of the sexes! Of course, he based his opinion on a former edict by Saudi Arabia's Grand Mufti, the late Bin Baz, who decreed that the mixing of unmarried men and women is forbidden in Islam.


This is the same man who recently condoned the killing of the owners of entertainment-themed satellite tv stations, among the was the Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal.

This "da'iya" or preacher proposes murder and destruction in order to correct society's mistakes, and there are many among us here in Kuwait that respect an agree with his opinions, some of them are even MP's, who are known to frequently harass women's rights issues.

Doesnt it sound like a new form of Islam to you??!! Personally, it sounds like a dangerous precedence with grave consequences if its not dealth with promptly.

Militant Islam that gave birth to people like Bin Laden and his followers may have diminished, but its preachers are still alive and well. And here we are in Kuwait talking about a KD10'000 grant that may or may not happen.
